Live and Standard Tracking

Live sends your position as you move; Standard uploads in batches and saves power.

Choose Your Mode

Both modes record your route with the same accuracy. The difference is how quickly your position reaches the website.

Standard

The default. Your route is saved on the phone and sent every few minutes to save battery, so the website map is a few minutes behind you.

Live

Your position is sent as you move, so followers can watch you on the map in real time and see a "LIVE" banner on your journey. Live uses more battery and uses mobile data even if you have chosen Wi-Fi-only uploads. Live tracking needs an Explorer membership.

Tracking Privacy

Explorer members can turn on Tracking Privacy in the same panel. It hides the last few kilometres of your route on the website until you have moved on, or after 24 hours, so nobody can see exactly where you stopped for the night. It works with Standard tracking only.

Live and End Masks

Live tracking is not available while the chapter has an end location mask, because the two would contradict each other. Remove the end mask under JOURNEY › Edit Chapter if you want to go live.
