What Pebbls Asks For
Pebbls only asks for what tracking and Pebbls need. You can review them at any time under Settings › Permissions, which links to your phone's settings.
Location: Always
The important one. Choose "Always" on iPhone or "Allow all the time" on Android so that recording continues when the screen is off or you switch apps. With "While Using the App" your route will have gaps.
Camera and Microphone
Used when you take a photo or record a video for a Pebbl from inside the app. The microphone is only used for video sound.
Photos
Lets you attach existing photos and videos to Pebbls, and lets the app read the location stored in a photo so it can offer to place the Pebbl there.
Notifications
Used for tracking alerts (auto-stop warnings, poor GPS signal, low battery, uploads) and for activity from people you follow.
Android Battery Settings
On some Android phones you also need to exclude Pebbls from battery optimisation, or the system stops background tracking after a while. See "GPS Tracking".
