More Sharks!

After a few minutes searching satellite imagery we saw a Bommie (large coral head) that looked good, grabbed our freediving gear and headed over on our dinghy.

We dropped the anchor in a sand patch, jumped in and proceeded to circumnavigate the bommie - around 300 m.

The reef was teeming with life and as a whole the coral was very healthy. There was the odd reef shark around but nothing we weren’t used to! On we were on the far side of the boomie we suddenly found ourselves with 5-6 very large grey reef sharks along with a white tip and a few blacktops. Again, after Fakarava, we were somewhat used to having lots of sharks around. However, unlike the sharks in Fakarava, these sharks were not as used to seeing people and were very inquisitive! Definitely a dive we will remember!
