Aruba To Panama | Day 2

We’re just rounding Cabo de Vela. One of the more nutritious cape to sail around in the world. There are extremely complex weather systems off the cape making sailing a little more of a challenge, with frequent unpredicted mini-systems bringing with them heavy rain and thunder and strong winds. As a rule of thumb whatever the forecast says you add 15-20 knots for the area surrounding the cape. This turn a lovely 15 knots into a not so lovely 35 knots!

All that said we’ve had a pretty good night. We saw up to 28-30 knots but mostly down wind and with the lightning keeping a little distance.

Yesterday we had a new crew member who is still enjoying the free ride this morning!
