Hike Day: Mount Kumokagate Part 2
Although I won't get up Mount Kumokagate this time either, I can go up to Senjojiki Cirque and hopefully enjoy some good views!

Having cycled up to the higher-up bus stop to save some money on the bus ticket, I've gone the whole hog and bought a round-trip cable-car ticket. I had been thinking I'd hike up, but was worried if I tried, the paths in the forest might be impassable before reaching the top of the cable car. There may be very little hiking today!

The cable-car, or ropeway .
This is the longest ropeway in Japan, and the top station is the highest top-station in Japan.

Investigating the hiking trail down from the top ropeway station - it's definitely a bit snowy - sink to one depth a couple of times just getting this far! I shall take the cable-car down.
I saw a couple of people headed up to Mount Komagatake - it too is a very snowy route.
Where the ground can give way!
It looked like a path, but there's a stream underneath!
Another challenging route
I'd seen a trail smashing around the mountain that looked relatively snow-free...but it got a bit challenging to reach it - a snowy 45 degree slope has turned me back.

A little bit jealous of those with cramps and ice axes headed up to the summit, but I have a pretty decent view here too I guess.
