Dag 24: Sagiada - Preveza
At 115km and 1,050m of elevation gain, this is an average day. We pass Igoumenitsa, where we have often traveled by ferry to/from Italy. The sun is shining brightly, it reaches 34°C, our first really hot day…
Preveza
This drive was tougher than expected. Due to the higher heat? (Though lower than in Belgium…). Didn't get enough sleep? Fortunately, halfway through we ended up back at a fantastic beach, with finger food served at our sun loungers. Never before has a dip in the sea been so blissful!
There was also room for a siesta in our flexible schedule. We didn't roll into Preveza until 8 am. Much busier than expected. And, true to form, we first enjoyed a few large pints, with a view of a hilarious wedding scene. So life just goes on?!
Reunion with Mathieu
Halfway through the ride, on a super steep section where we had to push the bikes uphill, we ran into Mathieu again. The first time was after Dubrovnik. He is on his way from Brittany to Istanbul, via Athens! He is now accompanied by a friend and his girlfriend. Their luggage, tent and all, weighs a whopping 30kg… you have to hand it to them!
