Hitoyoshi campsite
We made it to our target campsite, but over an hour after their reception closed. It's probably very bad manners here, but we decided to camp here anyway and apologise and pay in the morning.
A kind Japanese man wandered over to us and, did to the very boggy ground, offered us a disposable emergency blanket to use as a grind sheet under our tents - probably a really good idea for Suchern, who doesn't have a ground sheet! I tried to decline mine, as I have a ground sheet already, but he wasn't taking no ('iie') for an answer!
Some hot food was very necessary after our long day in the rain. Luckily there are nearby convenience stores, and we went to one and heated up some noodles in their microwave. You can even eat-in at these convenience stores - warmer and easier than trying to take warm food back to our tents!
