Bristol To Shanghai
Suchern flew to Okinawa ahead of me, then on to the small island of Ishigaki, where she spent a few days under leaden skies and in stiff sea breezes; it should have been tropical, but felt cold. To top it off, she'd accidentally left her phone at Naha airport, so it was a few days before I found out she had made it okay 馃槸
I set off with more luggage than is sensible, and a bike bag that is so big the airline may refuse to take it, on Tuesday 10th March 2026, fortunate that I booked with China Eastern in that Donald Trump's war with Iran wouldn't affect my flight to Shanghai over Russia...

These bike hangers are always awkward.
I don't think they'd fit another bike next to mine!

Hmmm, my homemade rucksack stand which includes 2 telescopic umbrella poles, was already damaged on train number 1. I didn't think it would last long, but I did hope it would help me out for a few days before dying! Maybe with some more cable ties... 馃

The flight went pretty well. Didn't really sleep very much and they lost my request for vegetarian food, but we had a smooth journey and my neighbours shared some non-meaty bits they didn't want 馃挍
