Big Bike Ride!
Tonight we slept at Four Mile Campground, we will be sleeping here for the next 3 nights.
With another family (seen in picture four), Xanthe and Jasper (kids), Eliza and Paul (mum and dad), are also with us at this campsite.
Yesterday dad made us bike up this huge hill just to get to a lookout! I was sooooooo puffed by the end!
Dad just said “it’s good exercise!”
No sympathy.
Having a fabulous trip!
Ade!
Finally a rest day
Today we finally had a rest day and a kangaroo hopped into our campsite. He came unexpectedly close to us and looked like he was about to eat our toast. Then a couple hours later we went to Four Mile Beach and had a big swim and stayed there for a few hours we also collected a lot of gemstones and then we came back and had kebabs for dinner.

Driving Day
Wave Rock
Today we went to wave rock which was my highlight for the day and maybe my highlight for the trip. Wave rock is a rock that has been shaped like a wave and we went to the top of wave rock. We also went to Hippie Yawn which is a rock that has been shaped like a hippo yawning. We went for a bike ride that’s a loop and we also saw a Ringneck Bird. We went back to camp for dinner and a fire.

Buzz
Today we pack up from Wave Rock campsite and on the way to our next camp we stopped at the best playground ever!
Some of the play structures were so daring that mum and was like ‘’I this even illegal?’’
One of the play structure in the picture (yellow and silver circle thing) was a spinning circle thingy that was so weird that it was very hard to get on (needed mums help)
And help getting off (needed dads help).
But they were all fun any way!
Because tee go!

Big Hike Up Bluff Knoll
Today we had a pretty big walk and it was 6km and it might not sound hard but it was. It was very steep going up. We had lollies when we had climbed up 200 steps. Up at the top we had lunch and then came back down and went back to camp to have dinner and a game of Cluedo. And that was what we mainly did today.

Granite Sky Walk

This one was the Granite Sky Walk. We walked 2km up to the Granite Sky Walk then we went up this ladder to a platform attached to boulders.
It was such a long way down!
It was soo high that some of our friend friends got dizzy and had to go back down!
It was a magnificent view at the top!

Town day in Albany
Today we had a fun day in Albany and had some cereal for breakfast and then came to town. First we went shopping for a mattress for mum and dad and then went to a cafe for some morning tea then went to Toyworld. I bought a hot wheels truck. Then we looked at some other shops and then had lunch at the top of a hill. Some magpies came up very close and was about to eat our own lunch. Then we went to a museum and it had very, very old cars. There was this toy upstairs at the museum and you could drive a car.

Seven Day Stay!
We moved to a different camp today. It was called
Parry’s Beach Campground.
We are going to be here seven days! The longest yet!
On the way we stopped at a Chain Saw sculptures.
They were incredible!
Some of the sculptures are the elephant, lady in the tree and two pelicans.
After that we went to the sculpture thingy, we went to something called the gap!
It was a sort of gap in the land that the water would bash against it and it was amazing!
I think it looked very cool!
Then we went to the blow hole which was very amazing as well.
Anyway we are all set up at our new spot at Parry’s Beach Campground.
All is well!
And I must go!

Today we went to Greens Pool and had lots of fun and when we arrived Mum saw a tick on my back and I sent a photo of it happening. Eliza got it out with tweezers she got the head of it out as well. And we stayed at Greens Pool then headed back to camp and made a snail farm and then played with them for a while and then had dinner.

Massive bike ride
Phew!
I'm pooped! Today we had a really long bike ride that was 17km that we did in only 2.5hrs. It was along a rail trail that was all dirt near Denmark. We started off after lunch and then started biking. We saw little fairy huts the size of a shoe box that were decorated very nicely. We hanged out at camp before we started the bike ride and dis some school work. And then when we arrived back we played at a playground and then went back to camp. And had dinner near the fire and a bandicoot came to visit twice.

Missing Milk Crate
Today we had a bike ride in the morning to a viewpoint and stayed there for a few minutes then biked back. We packed up to go to another campsite called Drafty’s in Warren National Park. When we arrived at Drafty’s we found out that we were missing a milkcrate. This is bad because we had two and they fitted perfectly together for a stool. The missing one was a special one that was cut in half by Papa to make a small one and it had a wood top. Today we stopped at a jetty on our drive so Dad could go for a paddle and we did our schoolwork on the jetty in the sun.

Highest Tree Climb
Today we climbed the highest tree climb in the WORLD!
We got to 65 meters above the ground!
CRAZY!!
How we climbed the tree, is that we went up these nails that were put into the trunk of the tree going spiral upwards.
It was awesome at the top of the tree!
We also hung out in Pemberton for a while’
We also had ice cream!
I had a splendid day!

Biking The Hut
Today we biked 6km to a hut.
We did it with Xanthe and Jasper’s family.
It was slightly hard on some bits (especially if you have a road bike)!
Once we got to the hut, we had dinner with a fire.
Though after dinner the kids got pretty silly and crazy!
I had a fabulous day!

Caravan Park!!!
Hello!
We are at a caravan park!
Now it may not sound a big deal for you, but for us it’s AWSOME! At this Caravan park there is tennis courts, jumping pillow (bouncy castle), half basketball court, put put golf (mini golf) (we did that today, so fun! Also it was me and Lachie’s first time!)
I am so happy we are here at Margaret River caravan park.
Gotta go!

A Cave
Today we hanged out at camp with Xanthe and Jasper and played. Then we went to a cave called lake cave where there’s a lake inside the cave and then we walked down 325 steps to the cave and it was a really big cave. I really liked it because it just looked so cool with all the rocks and I also liked the spikes hanging down from the roof.

In A Real house!
Last night was soo cold!
At night it got to zero degrees but felt like minus seven!
Now that’s not that cold for Canada, but for Australia it’s chilly!
Today we were up and going before 80:30am!
No that’s very good for the Newluks’s!
On our way to Fremantle we stopped in Busselton to walk on the longest jetty in the southern hemisphere!
To walk the hole jetty it was 1.7km!
At the end we were able to go in a building that went under the water level.
It was like an aquarium but, the fish weren’t in captivity they were wild!
It was very fascinating!
I really enjoyed it!
After that we drove to our accommodation in Fremantle.
This is the first time in the trip we are staying in a real house!

Market morning
Today we went to a market in the morning in Perth. Then we saw a man doing tricks because he was a street performer we watched him do his tricks then we went
to a cafe to have lunch. We rode to a Sunken ship museum and there were lots of things that were from under the ocean. Then we went back home.

Fremantle Prison
Today we went to Fremantle Prison. We got a tour going through the prison telling us about how the convicts built and lived in the prison from the 1850’s. It reminded me of visiting Port Arthur in Tasmania. It also reminded me of how unfair they were treated and it how cruel it was. The youngest person ever there was 8 years old - it’s horrible that they could do that.
In the afternoon we cycled to the Western Australian Botanic Gardens. The Botanical Gardens were really beautiful and they had such a diversity of plants. Afterwards we had dinner in a train station while we waited for the train back to Fremantle.

Rottnest Island
Today we left Fremantle and hopped on a ferry and came to Rottnest Island and then we went on a big bike ride and it was very hilly and my legs got very sore on the uphills. Then we went to a lighthouse and bumped into Xanthe and Jasper and rode back with them to our cabin. Then we went to the beach with Xanthe and Jasper and had a swim then came back to have cheese toasties and a really really nice and warm shower. We saw lots of quokkas throughout the day.
By Lachie
Another Rottnest Day
Today we started off the day with a swim with Xanthe and Jasper. It was beautiful. Then we went to the bakery to get morning tea. After we finished morning tea we did our schoolwork under a big fig tree. Afterwards we went to the museum which was touching because it was about Aboriginal imprisonment. While we were in the museum it started to pour and pour with rain. We had to bide our time in the museum waiting to get into our new cabin. Finally we were able to relax in our cosy cabin. Before dinner we went to our favourite quokka spot where there were so many quokkas.

Leaving Rottnest And Perth
Today we said goodbye to Xanthe and Jasper - it was sad saying goodbye to them because we were with them for a month of travelling and we don’t know when we’ll travel with them again. We crossed on the ferry to Perth and had lunch in a nature playground that was really cool. Then we hopped back in the car and travelled our way north. Tonight we’re camping in the sand dunes and someone told us we would be eaten alive by ticks. But no one got a single tick.

Rocks Of All Shapes
Today we saw rocks of all different sizes, shapes, ages and types.
We started our day pretty early so we could get going to the Pinnacles, for nice light and to miss the crowds.
Then we drove I see the oldest living organism on earth. They are called stromatolites, which are the origin or life.
The title and everything is pretty exiting but when you actually see them they are very underwhelming.
Next we went deep into a cave.
Mum and Dad said this was a very special thing, because there was no other people no tour guides no railings and stuff.
Though it was a walk way and it was a wasn’t dangerous.
Once we got on he way we did quite a lot of driving.
That’s enough for today!

Gorgeous Gorge
Today we had a quick brekkie then hit the road to a hike. We started the hike which was 2.6km. It was very rocky and bumpy and there was a lot of ladders and we saw some people rock climbing and abseiling. We reached the Murchison River and went for a swim in a gorge. We had lunch in the gorge then hiked back to the car. We went to the beach to watch the sunset then came back to camp to make dinner. We brought our dinner down to the beach and we ate it at a light festival.

Real 4x4
6th June
Today we got up at 6:30am so we could have a soak in the hot pool’s while watching sunrise!
It was very relaxing!
Once we finally got out after about an hour, in the hot baths, we started to pack up to get on the road.
About an hour into the drive we stopped at Carnarvon (the town where my gran worked as a nurse in early 1970’s) and did a big grocery shop.
Once on the road again, to my joy, because some times I really like just sitting in Bilby (the name of our car) and relaxing, crocheting, listening to Stuart Mclean’s stories and journaling.
Anyhow we drove for about three hours to a road leading to a campsite, but THIS is when the story starts to get exciting.
So we got up to the road that leads to the campground and we drive down in and at about three quarters down we get a bit stuck.
So then we a to let air out of the tiers, clear the sand away from the tyres and put some sticks near the tyres to help them grip.
In the end it all worked out and we ended getting to the camp fine.
Wow! Adelaide you need to stop writing!

We Didn’t Get Bogged Today
Today we woke up next to the beautiful beach and had brekkie but we could only have yoghurt because our food cabinet was blocked by a piece of wood that had gotten stuck against the door after the bumpy road. We packed up and drove through the sandy road to get back to the paved road. I felt relieved when we got back to the paved road because we didn’t get bogged. But instead of going on the paved road we went on a dirt road that was really rattly and bumpy. After the rocky road we got into a paved road and drove the rest of way to Exmouth then went to Yardie Homestead. We’ll be here for three nights.

Birthday With Whale Sharks!
8th June
Today I spent most of my Birthday swimming with whale sharks, swimming in coral reefs or on the whale shark boat!
Today It was my first ever time seeing a whale shark, and oh boy are they beautiful and majestic creatures!
It was an absolute terrific experience!
I wasn’t afraid of the whale sharks at anytime because they are harmless to humans.
Once we got back dad cooked up the cake mix we got on he barbecue!
The cake was so good!
We also had barbecue cooked pizza for dinner!
I think my birthday was absolutely magnificent!

Sorting Out The Tyre On Cubby
Camille writing today, on behalf of the kiddos. It was a bit of a dull post-birthday-post-whale-shark day as we spent most of it in Exmouth trying to sort out a tyre issue on our cubby camper. Unsuccessfully.
But we did get some mail at the post office and Adelaide slept under the stars.
Camping At North Lefroy
10th-15th June
Hello!
Camping at North Lefroy has been the most relaxing camp yet!
We have spent so much time swimming and on the beach!
The water is so clear practically all the time therefore snorkeling is superb!
I have had lots of fun at North Lefroy and It’s sad that we have left.
I’m super duper sorry that we have not written a pebble in donkeys years, but we will hope to write daily again.

Big Drive Day
16th June
Today we dropped cubby off at a mechanic to get the wheel fixed and then we drove away. We are going to Karijini and we’ll camp in our tent. We had a driving day that was ment to be eight hours but ended up being seven hours because we were driving in the pitch black and there was lots of cows on the road and on the side of the road. It made me feel a little nervous that we were going to hit one. So we pulled over into the bush to camp. We had dinner by the fire.

Karijini National Park
17th June
Bonjour!
Today we have arrrived at Karijini National Park!
Karijini is well know for it’s gorges and natural pools.
We drove a couple of hours to Tom Price where we stopped at visitor info and mum and dad asked thousands of questions about who knows what?
Once on the road again we drove a little while to a hike but to all our disappointment it was closed due to rain. 🙁
Although we couldn’t do that walk we still walk down into Joffre Gorge.
The view, rock walls and scenery were where alll spectacular!
As we walk around the gorge I love to put myself into the rock’s and gorge’s shoes and think of all the things they have seen and all the animals and humans, including the Aboriginals who walked the land hundreds and thousands of years ago.
We now have a very nice set up at Dales Campground where we are staying four nights.
Sweet dreams! ✨

Massive Hike
18th June
We hiked up Punurrunha (Mount Bruce) in the morning and the view at the top of the mountain was spectacular. Punurrunha is the second highest mountain in Western Australia. On one side of the mountain you’re looking over a really big mine which is mining iron ore. You could see real dump trucks working in the mine. At the mine there’s some of the worlds longest trains.
We hiked back down and drove to Jubura and Jubula (Fern Pool and Fortescue Pool). Fern pool is a nice pool to swim in. At the waterfall it’s much warmer water than in the main pool.

Rainy Day
19th June
At what time did you get out of bed today?
My family got out of bed at 10:30!
Mainly because it was so muddy and wet outside our cosy tent.
After a while we finally got up and had brekkie.
Lox and I had a very fun game in the bush; I found it super duper fun.
At about one o’clock
we walked straight out of camp to Dales gorge.
We walked 2.4km along the ridge then went down and walked 1km in the gorge.
The rock walls once again where beautiful!
With all there layers!
I truely loved the gorge walk!
With tired legs we walked back to camp for a spaghetti bolognaise!
That was my thrilling day!

Another Gorge On A Rainy Day
20th June
We hanged out at camp in the morning because it was raining again. It started to get boring but we got our schoolwork done and caught up on journal which felt nice. We drove to information centre and looked around in there. We then drove on a VERY, VERY corrugated road. We went to Nanna’s gorge and it’s called Nanna’s gorge because Nanna’s could work it. But it didn’t really seem like Nanna’s could do it but we did see some Nanna’s in there. We went for a swim in Fern Pool to clean off and it felt very refreshing.
