Day 30: Villafranca -> La Laguna
26k. Winding up into the mountains again today. Last 5k is a REALLY steep climb up towards our albergue, so need to be prepared for that. Going to be tough (especially with such sore leg muscles!)

A Moment For This Meal
The best lunch we’ve had in over a month - local goat’s cheese salad brimming with juicy fruit and veg, truffle carpaccio, and gorgeous grilled sea bass. Ft. A very sweet dog and her adopted kitten (We didn’t eat them, don’t worry)
Ac-climb-atising
Feel so strong now, got our big climb out of the way so tomorrow is relatively chilled. Got bonked on the head by a falling conker on the way. Both sweaty messes. It is SO beautiful around here, have loved every step.
Sleep Time 🐄
Some locals passing by as we enjoy an Estrella Galicia in the sun before dinner. Also, (
unrelated), pilgrim passports are looking quite full, especially with an amazing stamp made from freshly mixed wax from today’s lunch restaurant. The chef gave us a hug as we left because we kept complimenting his food so much - also gave us a pot of spicy sauce.
James’ Photos From Today
Freshly whacked on the head by a falling conker in the chestnut forest.
More Friends 🐮🔔
One cow (female), called ‘Pedro’ 😆, kept venturing off track and getting yelled at by the farmer.
