STAGE 14 etap 7 - June 14 2026
I had a rest day on Sinop: swimming, walking, and changing rear brakes!
Today’s goal is YAKAKENT which is about 75 km and half way to the end of stage 14 in Samsun. It was raining yesterday afternoon and evening but this am is dry and breazy
The way ahead
Cape Sinop is behind me as I may my way around the Black Sea coast. There is a strong gusty wind which I am hoping will be behind me.

On a small farm road above the sea. The road is protected from the wind by trees and bushes on both sides. Then I came to a gap with this view
The Thick Clay Episode
Mapy took me down a link lane that was just thick clay that quickly built up on the tires and attracting large stones sticks, etc until the tyres stuck solid behind the mud guards and the bike just slipped from under me. The front mudguard was broken and it took me quite a long time to get the Bike out of the mess and then clear off the heavy clay. I had to take the front mud guard off because the wheel just wouldn’t move otherwise.
Looking Back & The Old House
The wind was howling at my back and it must’ve been at least 25 km an hour because I don’t feel any wind when I’m going forward! Just here opposite the sea is an old ruined house the view is back where I have come from. The sea is pretty rough. The Road used to come over the hills behind the old house.
