Cycling Day 43: Heading east
Another hot, sunny day! Beautiful view from the tent last night and this morning 馃檪
A lot of today's journey will be travelling through the towns north of Nagoya. Not sure there'll be much to see en route (or if there is, I may well miss it).
Morning view from tent
Not a quiet camping spot, close to a busy road, but I had grass, water, a toilet, and, as far as I know, didn't upset anyone by staying here 馃檪 The sign just said no barbeques.
Lunch stop
Shortly after a supermarket where U picked up some mochi (it was in a bag rather than rigid plastic, so the rubbish packs down smaller - always good here where rubbish is awkward to dispose of!), a matcha chocolate ice-cream (eaten immediately!) and a potato salad bag to squeeze into sandwiches, I was pleased to see these shades benches come into view. It's very hot today, even in the shade - my speedo says 30.6degC, although the weather forecast says it may only be 29degC.
Definitely tempted by the multi-pack ice-cream option used in previous trips if it's still this hot later!
Disappointing ice-cream
For my 3rd ice cream today I picked this up, hoping for a nice, fresh, lemon flavoured ice-cream on a stick. Instead I got two of these lemon-flavoured ice in plastic monstrosities 馃檨
Camping
My camping spot tonight is a (former?) free campsite up a hill in some woodland. The pitches are a bit lumpy, but there's a toilet and water. There are also an awful lot of mosquitoes!
I had a quick 'shower' at the standpipe outside the toilets (once all the people in the car park had gone!) and am now hiding in my tent to avoid the mozzies. Hopefully they won't be too bitey in the morning when I need to pack up the tent 馃
