Cycling Day 23: To Kumakogen
And a parting of journeys, for a little while at least. Suchern decided she needed a bit of a break from cycling or tough walking every day. I've headed into the hills towards a walk up to a temple up there. I took a gamble on the weather (rain all day forecast) as it was really light rain this morning...

Campsite
It has it's own mini Japanese castle, a planetarium, a solar farm, impressive holiday cottages, cherry blossom and alpacas!
I was greeted in English by a friendly Japanese man who was concerned I keep warm and said there was a hot shower by the tent site.
It's 500 yen a night (about £2.50). I've booked 2 nights. The steepest cycling of the day was to get up to the tent area and the ground is absolutely sodden, but tomorrow should dry it out!
The only other traveller here tried the showers and said they were cold 🥶 I was told I could ring someone if the shower wasn't working, but it's very expensive to call Japanese numbers 🫤
