Silicon Valley
Stopped off at the Computer Museum in Silicon Valley. Was it quite interesting? Yes. Was it thrilling? Not quite. Did it make us feel old with all the ‘vintage’ items, e.g. the Furby, which we used to play with, on display? Yes. However, was cool to drive by all the big Microsoft/Amazon/etc HQs, and see all the ‘tech bro’ residential areas. Can see the appeal.
San Francisco 🌸
Absolutely adore this city and had the best time. Went to a 1970s opera-themed Italian restaurant in the evening when we arrived. Went to Alcatraz in the morning. Had incredible pizza in the North Beach area for lunch. Watched fat seals splashing beneath the Golden Gate Bridge. Got lost in Golden Gate Park (more like a magic forest in the middle of the city). Went hunting for a ‘cool’ new bumbag in the vintage shops on Haigh Street. Then grabbed a drink and saw some stand-up comedy with some ex-colleagues/friends. We are staying in a B&B inside a classic Victorian ‘painted lady’ house, right in the Mission District. Just a perfect time here, such a brilliant city. Now off to Napa and Sonoma for some wine tasting.
