Day 1: Arrival, meet our guide…
Asanka met us at the airport in Negombo, where they hide Colombo International Airport. He drove us to our first stop, in a town where lots of rafting fills the local river. Rafters Retreat, our first 2 nights
We planned not rafting but walks in the area. There had been plenty of rain so the river — just below our open balcony — was rushing by very loudly. Our room was basically a very big open balcony, and in case of mosquitoes we had a net over the bed, as you can see.
